What will you do?
Volunteers will work as part of Contextos´ team, dedicating their time to two major projects: “Vitamin D”, a medialab that embraces a series of communication projects (such as podcast, interviews, cultural events, newsletters) and Culture4all, aiming at promoting Culture in Faro and bringing the community and the Cultural and Creative Agents closer. In addition, since proactivity and dynamism are values of the cooperative, volunteers will always be encouraged to create/manage their own projects and ideas.
What is important to know?
Accommodation – Contextos will provide housing in a fully equipped flat in Faro to all the volunteers. Volunteers may have to share a room.
Insurance – You will be covered by the CIGNA insurance for the duration of your project and for two more months after it’s finished. CIGNA works as supplementary insurance from the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which you must have with you during the project.
Food allowance and pocket money – A monthly allowance of 150€ will be provided by Contextos to cover food expenses. Plus, every month the volunteer will receive 5€/day for pocket money. The money is given by bank transfer at the beginning of the month and it is the responsibility of the volunteer to manage it well.
Our suggestion is to have an international card: www.revolut.com
Working hours and days off – The standard timetable for volunteers is from 9:30h-16:30h. 6 volunteering hours with 1 hour lunch break. Volunteers have days off on Saturday and Sunday. If there’s an event during the weekend and volunteers are working on it, they can take 1 day-off to compensate.
You will have two days off per month, meaning that in the total 11 months project you will have 22 days off. As a volunteer, you can enjoy the official national holidays too.
Travel costs – Reimbursement will be done in EUR by bank transfer – regardless of the currency indicated on your ticket and receipt/invoice.
We are looking forward to your application!
Good luck! 🍀
